Chapter 59 Top Alchemy: Conceptual Alchemy

Chapter 59 Top Alchemy: Conceptual Alchemy
In the afternoon, Allen was not in a hurry to refine the other two medicines. The medicine itself takes energy, and it is necessary to combine work and rest, so he made a cup of pure black tea in the library and enjoyed this pleasant afternoon.

As the golden sun fell, grains of dust were like pure white snow flying in the air. The young man was wearing a black and elegant wizard robe. Under his long brown hair, his light blue eyes, like lake water, were staring at the ancient book in front of him.

Flicking through the slightly decayed parchment with his fingers, Alan's eyes were filled with shock and joy.

He has always been a fast reader, but this time it took him half an afternoon to finish reading this not-so-thick 'Alchemy Diary'.

He originally thought that although the spell Voldemort had placed on his name was complicated, it was nothing more than Animagus level - a transfiguration technique that needed half a year of continuous cooperation with the weather and potion practice.

But the surprise that this spell gave him far exceeded his imagination. Allen closed the book and sighed, "How powerful the magical world must have been thousands of years ago."

This alchemy diary has a time record, so Allen can judge that this book was written between 786 and 787 AD. At that time, there were still legendary wizards walking in the world. Some of the magical skills were beyond the imagination of this era, such as the Room of Response.

Going back to this alchemy diary, the author writes it very casually, so it is more like an essay. It describes his views on some alchemy during this period in a self-reported tone, the most important of which is his description of conceptual alchemy.

Many things are described as specious, but they can still give Allen great inspiration.

For example, he wrote a passage like this:

On the day when Venus is in the sky, overcast
The weather in Rome is so bad, even on that remote island.

Heh, those hypocrites, they finally tore off their hypocritical masks. Is this a new inspiration from the magic books they collected from Egypt ten years ago?

"Do not carve an idol for yourself, nor make any image, as if it were all things that go up to heaven, down to earth, or under the ground, or in the water." Oh, it's really hypocritical. Without an objective image and concept to gather the power of faith, what do these saints use to fight us?
Ugly, dirty, lowly maggots...
(an emotional vent)
Wait, maybe I can find the same way to gather the power of faith, but the faith is mottled. If I don’t want to become a lunatic or be ignited by the fire, then I need to filter the faith. Well, this is a good idea. I probably have an idea.

Allen re-read this paragraph, the information in it is so rich.

Although the wizard who first wrote this diary did not leave his name, he is definitely a top boss, and may even be a legendary wizard. Otherwise, how dare he stay in a place like Rome in 786 when the church was at its peak.

Second, the phrase 'You shall not make for yourself an image, nor shall you make any image like anything that goes up to heaven, or down to earth, or everything that is under the earth, or in the water'.

If I remember correctly, it should be the second commandment in the famous Ten Commandments, prohibiting idolatry.

But what is interesting is that in 786 AD, the church itself abolished this commandment.

Idolatry to crosses, icons and other images of saints in the form of atonement and worship.

Now it seems that it is related to the war in the wizarding world at that time. The church found a new way to enhance its strength through the ancient magic literature of Egypt.

So came a really sweet.

And the suspected legendary wizard also found inspiration.

The first key point of the next paragraph, 'the belief is mottled, after absorbing it will become a lunatic or be directly ignited by the fire of God'.

Allen can understand this sentence. After all, the Lord preached by the church is omniscient and omnipotent. Who dares to absorb such condensed faith?

So this legendary wizard found another way, a specific title, no need for fixed prayers, but the reverence or fear brought about by this way will be much simpler and purer, allowing 'people' to have the opportunity to absorb it.

Genius, real genius!

Allen is a little excited emotionally, which is the joy of his exploration of magic, and being able to exchange ideas with those philosophers thousands of years ago.

But he is not alone!
The following pages are some of his insights on alchemy.

Allen took out his notes and summed it up.

The first law of alchemy, all things originate from one, this is the initial spirituality, and it is the beginning of chaos moving towards order.

Allen wrote a comment below, and "Jade Records" also records: All things are originally the One, and they were created from the One through differentiation.

Although it was a philosophical definition, Allen took it to heart.

The initial spirituality burns chaos and produces light, which is the beginning of the concept. Although the spirituality disappears in all things and is difficult to see, we usually extend the second law, the concept is supreme, so that it is true.

It's so true.....
Allen pondered these words over and over again. Fortunately, he was born with memories in this life, so he is good at Latin literature, otherwise ordinary little wizards might not be able to understand them.

This passage has the same description in "Cuiyulu": the truth is not false, never lie, it will inevitably bring truth.

Originally, Allen couldn't understand why the truth was repeated twice, but with the interpretation of this passage, Allen probably could understand the reason.

The first 'real' refers to concepts, and the second 'real' refers to everything.

So the meaning of the whole passage is that concepts are not nothingness, and old concepts will never die, only new concepts will be born, and what is born of concepts is everything we know.

The third law, the process of transforming concepts into matter, is the law, in order to fulfill the miracle of the one, so the bottom is the same as the top, the top is the same as the bottom, and the outside and the inside are one.

The original expression in "Cuiyulu" is: the bottom is like the top, and the top is like the bottom, so as to complete the miracle of Taiyi.

As for why "up and down" is used to refer to concepts and substances, the second law already has an answer, that is, the concept is supreme, and this corresponds to the two "reals", which themselves are two sides of one body.

The third law, Allen also read for a long time to understand, the process of transforming concepts into matter is the law.

This is probably the closest description to magic.

For example, "clear spring is like water", the wizard chanted this spell (concept), thus gathering water (substance), this process is both a miracle and a law, just like the modern "Magic Theory", the wizard's magic is "the power of rules, with the heart as the core, and the magic as the transmission."

When Fu understood, Allen picked up the teacup beside him and took a sip to calm down his excitement.

He pondered these three sentences over and over again. As the first classic of alchemy, "Jade Record" is no less important than China's Hetu Luoshu, but very few people have understood it over the years. It is because of the understanding of "Jade Record" that Nicolas Flamel forged the "Sage's Stone".

With the help of the wisdom of this ancient sage, Allen was finally able to figure out the meaning of the previous three sentences.

First Law of Alchemy: All things are the One, and were created from the One by differentiation.

Translation: All things originate from One, and the One is also the original Spirit.

The second law of alchemy: the truth is not false, never lie, will inevitably bring truth.

Translation: concept and matter are two sides of one body, the original concept evolves into matter, and the concept will not die, it will only increase, so the concept is supreme.

The third law of alchemy: the bottom is like the top, and the top is like the bottom; in this way, the miracle of the One is fulfilled.

Translation: The process of transforming concepts into matter is the law, which is also the source of miracles and magic.
