Chapter 274 274. New School Year Fifth Grade Begins

September 1993, 9, King's Cross Station, London.

Scott, who turned 15 after the summer break, walked into the station with his three roommates pushing a luggage trolley.

Since Roger, Milton and Eddie were all in London, Scott made an appointment on the phone to meet them at the station gate before the start of the school day.

Scott asked Milton, who hadn't seen him in more than two months, "How was the summer vacation alone in London?"

"Very good." Milton said, "I have been to all places in London this summer, and I have learned more about the lives of Muggles."

Roger said with a smile: "Milton also participated in the orchestra activities of their community and became the most popular community performer."

Milton smiled shyly.

He looked much happier now than when he was struggling with family problems at the end of last semester.

It seems that his summer vacation was really good.

"You don't even know that I went to the United States during the summer vacation!" Eddie suddenly said excitedly, "It's a pity that I didn't get to visit the Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry."

Scott asked amusedly, "Did you deliberately save this news today?"

Eddie nodded triumphantly, and began to talk about his trip to the United States.

It's a pity that he went with Mr. Carmichael who went to the United States to discuss business, and he didn't get in touch with the magic world in the United States.

This led to Scott and the others not having much interest in his experience.

Milton asked Scott in a low voice, "Did you just return to England today?"

Scott shook his head, "Yesterday, I went to Diagon Alley yesterday to buy new textbooks for the new school year."

Roger immediately joined the conversation between the two, "I don't know who the school has found to be the new professor of protection of magical animals, but that book that likes to bite people is really weird!"

"You can take a guess from the style chosen in the book," laughs Scott.

By the time they took turns trotting onto platform 9 3/4, Eddie had stopped talking about his trip to America altogether.

Until Scott and the others boarded the train and sat in the compartment, Eddie still looked at the three of them with resentful eyes without saying a word.

Scott was still happily talking about some common topics, and they deliberately ignored Eddie's aggrieved eyes.

When the train started, Eddie finally couldn't bear it anymore and joined their conversation by himself.

Then Scott stood up.

He took out a gold and blue badge from his pocket and pinned it to the chest of his robe.

"Oh! Prefect badge?" Roger smiled teasingly at Scott, "I knew that the new male prefect of the fifth grade should be you."

Milton also said happily: "Congratulations, Scott."

"Next year it will be me!" Eddie said a little unconvinced.

Scott nodded at them. "I need to go to the prefect's car."

He stepped out of the compartment and walked his way through several sections of carriages to the prefect's carriage behind the front of the train.

At this time, the chairmen of the male and female student unions and some prefects were already waiting in the carriage.

Scott walked over to where the Ravenclaws were sitting and greeted the prefects he knew.

Penello said to him enthusiastically: "I said a long time ago that you will become the new prefect, Scott."

Scott thanked her politely.

"It's your fifth grade prefect's turn to guide the freshmen this year." Ethan Cooper patted Scott on the shoulder, "I hope you don't encounter the kind of troubles we did last year!"

Scott knew that Ethan was talking about Caitlin Rohr deliberately falling down the spiral staircase to frame Jacob last year.

"I was terrified when the girl fell!"

Eva Taylor, the female prefect in the same grade as Ethan, still seems to have lingering fears when she thinks about it.

"Thanks to Ethan, he cast a spell in time to save the girl."

At this time, Keira, who was in the same grade as Scott, ran into the car and sat down beside Scott.

Looks like she's the new headmistress.

"What's the matter, Keira." Scott said to Keira who looked at her from time to time, "Are you regretting that Professor Flitwick didn't choose Dylan as the male prefect?"

"Are you kidding, Scott, Dylan and I don't want to stick together all the time." Kayla said out of place.

It didn't take long before all the prefects arrived.

Two seventh-grade male and female student council chairmen stood up and said a few words.

The main content of their speech was to welcome the new prefects, and let everyone go to inspect the carriages separately, focusing on taking care of the freshmen of each college.

After leaving the prefect's car, Scott and Kayla patrolled around the car they were in charge of.

Although Kayla claims she and Dylan won't be glued to each other all the time, Dylan quickly bonded as they toured the car.

Seeing this, Scott patted Dylan on the shoulder, and solemnly handed him the task of inspecting the carriages, and Dylan happily agreed.

Scott was also very happy, and walked towards the original carriage with a relaxed pace.

On the way back, he happened to pass by the carriage where the "Savior" trio was.

At this moment, Harry was dancing and talking to Ron and Hermione in the cubicle.

He looked really happy.

Scott knocked on the door of the cubicle, pushed the door open and walked in.

"Hello." He looked at Harry, who was frozen in motion, and couldn't help smiling, "Congratulations, Harry, about your godfather, Mr. Black, I read the "Daily Prophet" during the summer vacation."

Harry turned to look at Scott, and smiled sheepishly, "Oh, thank you, Scott."

He explained anxiously, "I mean... I haven't had time to thank you... You were the first to find out that something was wrong, didn't you? If it wasn't for you, Sirius might not be able to be saved."

"You're welcome." Scott leaned against the door frame, "It's just a coincidence."

He turned to look at Ron, "...and caused Ron to lose his beloved pet."

"Ouch!" Ron retched twice quickly, frowning in pain, "Oh! Don't say that!"

Hermione covered her mouth and laughed, "Ron got lucky after losing Scabbers. Mr. Weasley won the "Daily Prophet" Reader's Award, and he has got a new pet!"

Ron quickly nodded in agreement, "Banban... oh no, Pettigrew must be a disaster star that can bring bad luck to those around him!"

It seems that he may have pushed part of the reason for his family's poverty to Pettigrew.

"By the way, Sirius also wants to thank you personally."

Harry said to Scott.

"And he's going to have that opportunity very quickly."

Having said that, he winked at Scott pretending to be mysterious.

Scott looked at the corner of his mouth that was unconsciously grinning because he was too happy, and ruthlessly debunked his riddle, "Mr. Black will become the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor?"

"How do you know?" Harry blurted out.

"I'm sure now," Scott said with a smile.

 Skip straight to fifth grade.
