The Wizard Supreme at Hogwarts

Chapter 5 Diagon Alley Behind the Bar

Chapter 5 Diagon Alley Behind the Bar

This is a dirty little bar.If Professor McGonagall hadn't pointed it out, Noreen might not have noticed.People passing by in a hurry didn't even look at it, as if it didn't exist in the world. However, when Professor McGonagall stopped, Norlin immediately realized that this was the famous Leaky Cauldron.

"This is the Leaky Cauldron. You may deal with it frequently in the future." Professor McGonagall explained, and walked into the small door of the bar randomly.

As a famous place, it is too dark and dirty here. And there are almost all kinds of people here.Several old women were sitting in a corner drinking sherry from small glasses, and one of them was smoking a long pipe.A middle-aged man monopolized a table holding a wine glass with absent-minded eyes. The table was full of black spiders.A man in a tall black top hat was talking to a barkeeper who was almost bald and looked like a blunted walnut.

As soon as Norlin and Professor McGonagall entered, the chattering stopped suddenly. As a top executive at Hogwarts, Professor McGonagall naturally knows countless people. They greeted each other, and Professor McGonagall responded one by one.

"Long time no see, Professor McGonagall!" The bar owner's wrinkled face was a little surprised, he picked up a cup, "Would you like a drink?"

"Not Tom. Long time no see. I still have something to do." Professor McGonagall nodded with a smile and declined.

"Oh! Professor McGonagall, I can see you here!" The man who was talking to Old Tom came over with a look of surprise after seeing the two of them clearly.

"Ah—Professor Krell, good afternoon." Professor McGonagall was also a little surprised.

Norin's eyes froze, but almost no one paid attention to him.He carefully looked at the man who was called "Professor Krell" by Professor McGonagall. He was an attractive man with a hard-lined face and a faint scar on the left side of his cheek.

There was no such professor in the original book, but it seemed that he was the professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts this semester, and only this unlucky profession that changed every year had a vacancy.Nolin thought to himself.

"I'm here to help this child buy newborn supplies - this is Noreen Davis, who will soon be a member of Hogwarts." Professor McGonagall said, "Nolin, this is Professor Krell, A professor at Hogwarts."

"Hello, Professor Krell." Nolin bowed slightly.

"Hello, Norlin." Professor Krell looked at him, and said in a tone of deep meaning, "I look forward to seeing you at school!"

"Then Professor Krell, let's go first." Professor McGonagall said, and walked to the back of the bar first.

Norlin bid farewell to Professor Krell and followed quickly.

"Professor, what course does Professor Krell teach?" Noreen asked confirmingly.

"Defense Against the Dark Arts. I teach Transfiguration. You will naturally understand these courses after you start." Professor McGonagall explained briefly.

They walked across the bar to a small walled patio. There is nothing here but a trash can and some weeds.

Norin kept silent, quietly watching Professor McGonagall pull out a small wooden stick from the cloak, and knocked three times on a certain wall brick.

"Put three bricks on the trash can, then count two bricks in the horizontal direction, and tap three times with the wand. Norlin remember this, this is the way to enter Diagon Alley from the Leaky Cauldron." Professor McGonagall turned to Norlin .

The brick she knocked on shook and began to move, a small hole appeared in the middle, and the hole became bigger and bigger. After a while, an archway wide enough for the two of them appeared in front of them, leading to a winding road. Winding cobbled roads with no end in sight.

For the first time, the door to the new world opened in Noreen's eyes.

"Welcome, Norlin." Professor McGonagall said softly, "Welcome to Diagon Alley, you have really entered the world of wizards."

As they walked along the archway, Noreen looked back and saw that the archway suddenly narrowed and then returned to the original solid wall.

There are almost all kinds of strange shops on this street. The sun's glare falls on a stack of pots outside the nearest store. There is a brand hanging above the pot—copper, brass, tin-plated, silver cauldron, complete models, automatic stirring, foldable. Not far away is a pet store, from which low and soft whining sounds can be heard from time to time.In the corner of Nolin's eye, a stone statue spit colorful bubbles into the sky.The bubbles fluttered with the wind, and the landing point was a large window, in which there were brooms with strange shapes.Norlin continued to walk forward, and robe shops, bookstores, bars, etc. came into his sight one after another. There were also window displays full of baskets of bat spleens and eel eyeballs, piles of spell books, quills, rolls of parchment, and strange silverware that Noreen had never seen before.

"There are a lot of things you need," said Professor McGonagall, "but obviously we have to get the money first."

Noreen greedily took in all the sights. This world, to him now, is an unparalleled novelty.

The two continued to walk forward, and finally stopped in front of a snow-white building towering over the surrounding shops. On the shiny bronze door is a string of large characters - Gringotts.

"Gringotts, the Wizarding Bank, opened by elves, can be said to be the safest and most reliable places." Professor McGonagall said slowly, walking forward.

Nolin pouted, somewhat disapproving of the evaluation of "the safest and most reliable place".As far as he knew, there had been quite a few thefts from Gringotts.

By the gate stood a goblin in a livery of scarlet and gold. They walked along the white stone steps, and Norin took the opportunity to look at the goblin. He was probably a head shorter than Norrin, with a dark, intelligent face, a pointed beard, and unusually long hands and feet. The goblin bowed to them as they entered.

Afterwards, a second door appeared in front of the two of them, and the following words were engraved on the silver door: Please come in, stranger, but you must be careful what will happen to you if you are greedy. You seek to take from our subterranean vaults a treasure that was never yours, you have been warned, O thief, that it is not treasure that brings you, but evil.

Not concise enough, too wordy.Norin secretly spit out a groove.

Two goblins bowed to them, and led them into a tall marble hall. There were about a hundred goblins sitting on stools behind a long counter, some weighing coins with copper scales, some examining gems with eyepieces, and registering them hastily in a large ledger. There is a serious expression on the face.

There are countless doors in the hall, leading to different places, and many goblins guide people in and out of these doors.Professor McGonagall and Nolin walked all the way to the front counter.

"Hi, I'm here to get some money." Professor McGonagall said to a goblin who seemed a little free.

"Vault number, key."

"Number 24." Professor McGonagall said, motioning Noreen to take out the key.

"Come with me." The goblin took the key, stared at it for a long time with sharp eyes, then turned and said.

He opened a door and walked in, followed by Professor McGonagall and Noreen. In front of you is a narrow stone corridor, which is brightly illuminated by burning torches.Under the stone corridor is a steep downhill slope, and there is a small railway below. The goblin whistled, and a cart came rushing down the track.

The three of them got into the cart, and the cart spewed out a puff of steam like cheers, and started to run wildly.Norin was blown by the strong wind so hard to open his eyes, after an unknown amount of time, the car stopped in front of a door.

The elf unlocked the door.A faint stuffy smell made Nolin wrinkle his nose. However, when he saw the situation in front of him clearly, Norin couldn't help but gasped.Jewels and jewels rushed towards his face, and there were piles of gold coins and silver coins inside, but there was no half of a bronze Nat.Inside the small treasury was a cabinet with several things wrapped in cloth.Norin didn't open it, he had a hunch that he didn't need these things now, maybe one day, this cabinet would give him a big surprise.

"Liana was very rich back then." Professor McGonagall said with a faint smile, "Go and get your wealth. The gold coin is Galleons, which is seventeen silver Sickles and one Galleon, and twenty-nine copper Knuts." It’s simple enough to combine one Sickle.”

Norin asked the goblin for a bag, grabbed a few and stuffed it in, feeling quite uncomfortable with this strange conversion. But my mother turned out to be a hidden rich man, so wouldn't I also be considered a rich second generation?
This thought made Nolin a little dumbfounded.

"Let's go." Seeing that Norin took so many gold coins, Professor McGonagall raised his eyebrows. But she didn't say much, turned and walked out of the vault.

After another wild ride in the trolley, they stood again in the sunny street outside Gringotts.

"Let's go buy you a uniform first." Professor McGonagall said, looking at Madam Malkin's robe store opposite.

Madam Malkin was a dumpy witch with a big smile and a purple dress. When she saw him coming, she exclaimed, "Long time no see! Minerva."

"Long time no see." Professor McGonagall said, "Help this kid get the Hogwarts uniform, Madam Malkin."

"I'm so happy." Madam Malkin said with a smile. She had Noreen stand on a footstool, and she put a robe on him, pinning it to his length.

After about 3 minutes, Mrs. Malkin signaled him to come down. Then she walked into the back room, and it didn't take long before she came out with three uniforms. After paying the money, Professor McGonagall exchanged some pleasantries with Mrs. Malkin before continuing the shopping trip with Nolin.
