Chapter 385 Harry Who Wants to Be an Auror - The Decaying Ministry of Magic

Chapter 385 Harry Who Wants to Be an Auror - The Decaying Ministry of Magic

This is a complete waste of time, Hera growled in her heart, this is a complete waste of time.

Voldemort has been resurrected, but the students in the castle are still worrying about graduation. The wizarding world is going to be shrouded in darkness, but they still don't know anything, and they are fooled by the stupid remarks of the Ministry of Magic.

Hera knew that of course they couldn't blame them, it was all the responsibility of the Ministry of Magic.

In fact, Harry didn't seem too concerned, he seemed more absent-minded.But Hera suspected he was simply being distracted by Umbridge, the rustling was disturbing indeed.

"Oh—" said Harry.

"What?" Professor McGonagall urged Harry.

"Well, I think, maybe, be an Auror," Harry murmured.

"You need to have the best grades for that," said Professor McGonagall, and this was where she was good at, and Hera gently stepped aside for her—he was only asking a few questions for Professor McGonagall temporarily—and Umbridge got Professor McGonagall a little excited.

She pulled out a small black leaflet from under the pile of things on the table and unfolded it. "I know, they require at least five NEWTs with no grades lower than 'good'. This is a series of rigorous character and intelligence tests that you have to go through in the Auror office. It's a tough career path, Potter, and they only accept the best. In fact, I don't recall anyone being hired for the last three years."

At this point, Umbridge coughed very softly, as if she was trying to see how lightly she could cough.Hera and Professor McGonagall ignored her completely, their attention still on Harry.

"Actually, I'm not suggesting you become an Auror, Harry." Hera said so softly that Harry thought he had heard it wrong.

"Oh, it's really the same opinion." Umbridge smirked, making everyone disgusted. "I also wonder whether Mr. Potter's character is suitable for being an Auror?" Umbridge said sweetly.

"It's a pity that although we came to the same conclusion, it wasn't from the same mind."

Harry and Professor McGonagall watched Hera and Umbridge arguing with their mouths slightly open.

"How?" asked Umbridge, in a pleasant tone.

"I think it's a waste of Harry's talent to become an Auror." Hera said curtly, "Aurors now." He slowed down and sighed heavily.

"I'm afraid you'll have to explain what this means?" said Umbridge loudly.

Hera pursed her lips, without looking at Umbridge, "literally."

"Well, then I don't understand. I'm afraid I can't understand at all why you think Mr. Potter has such unrealistic hopes—"

"Unrealistic hopes?" Hera repeated, still unwilling to see Umbridge, "He was one of the best students in the past two years besides Miss Granger, and he got high marks in all the Defense Against the Dark Arts exams—"

"I must contradict you, Lestrange, maybe you don't know, but Minerva must know, I wrote her in the note, Harry got a bad grade in my class—"

"I should have made myself clearer," said Hera, finally fixing her eyes on Umbridge. "He got high marks in all Defense Against the Dark Arts exams given by teachers who were qualified for his job."

In Harry's past four years, almost half of the time has been taught by Hera, and he knows Harry far better than Umbridge.

Umbridge's smile disappeared in an instant. She leaned back in her chair, turned over a page on the clipboard, and began scribbling, moving her toad eyes from side to side.Hera turned to Harry and asked, "Any questions, Harry?"

"Yes," said Harry, "if sufficient NEWTs are obtained, what kind of character and intelligence tests will the Ministry conduct?"

"Well, you need to be able to react well under pressure and so on," Professor McGonagall said. "You also need to have perseverance and dedication, because Aurors have to undergo up to three years of training, not to mention the need to be extremely proficient in the actual use of defensive arts. This means that there is a lot to learn even if you leave school, unless you are prepared to-"

"I think you'll also find out," said Umbridge, her tone now icy, "that the Ministry of Magic checks the records of those who apply to become Aurors. Their criminal records."

"All charges against Harry have been dropped." Hera stood up directly and said to Umbridge.

Umbridge stood up too.She was so short that she stood just as well if she stood, but her mannerisms and smirks turned into fury which gave her broad, sagging face a particularly menacing look.

"Harry has no chance of being an Auror!"

"Harry," Hera said in a clear and loud voice, "I will help you become an Auror, even if it's the last thing I can do! If I tutor you every night, I promise to make you achieve the grades you need!" Hera also became angry, or his anger finally exploded. He didn't think it would be a good thing for Harry to become an Auror, after all, the Ministry of Magic didn't know how long it would last!
But Umbridge couldn't help but keep fighting against him.

"Harry Potter will never be hired by the Ministry of Magic!" said Umbridge, raising his voice with fury.

"By the time Harry is ready to become an Auror, there will hardly be a new Minister of Magic!" Hera shouted, which surprised both Professor McGonagall and Harry.

How did the situation become like this?
"Aha!" shrieked Umbridge, pointing a stubby finger at Hera. "Yes, yes, yes, yes! That's what you want to see, isn't it? Herra Lestrange? You want to see Dumbledore instead of Connery Fudge! Do you think you'll always be in that position? Headmaster of Hogwarts? How is that possible?"

"You're talking nonsense." Hera said extremely contemptuously, "You'll never be able to take it away from me. Continue with your employment counseling. I'm afraid Professor Umbridge and I will start a wizard's duel." Hera took out her wand and showed a cruel smile. The anger in his heart had been suppressed for a long time, and he couldn't find a place to release it.

Right now, Umbridge could not have been more welcome.

But Umbridge didn't cooperate that much. She slid soundlessly onto the chair as if a balloon had been punctured, and nearly slipped off the chair and onto the floor.

"You - evil - can't do this. Can't do this"

"Of course I can. Ms. Dolores Jane Umbridge, the senior investigator of Hogwarts, won't have the courage to pull out her wand to have a dignified wizard duel, right?" Hera stroked her wand and smiled cruelly. He would not show mercy just because Umbridge is a woman.

"You can't do this, I'm the Hogwarts Inquisitor!" Umbridge yelled, not having the nerve to pull out her wand.

Professor McGonagall got up gently, tugged Hera's sleeve, and she glanced at Umbridge, who was slumped in the chair, and said with disgust, "It's almost there. How can our senior investigator have the courage to accept a real professor's invitation to fight?"

"I think so." Hera chuckled lightly, but she didn't rush to put away her wand. She hid it in the sleeve of her robe and put it behind her back. "I will wait in the principal's office, no matter when you plan to ask me for a duel. I hope that day will come sooner."

Hera strode out of the office. To be honest, it made him feel a lot better, and the haze that was suppressed in his heart dissipated a lot—he basically vented all his negative emotions on Umbridge, and there was no other person more suitable than her in Hogwarts.

Ever since Dumbledore was forced to leave Hogwarts, Hera's heart became more and more heavy. He was always worried that he would not be able to complete the tasks assigned to him by Dumbledore.
The burden on him has never been greater.

He strode back to the Headmaster's office, only then did he realize that he had screwed up Harry's and Professor McGonagall's employment counseling, utterly screwed up.

But presumably neither Harry nor Professor McGonagall would care about that.

Umbridge was still panting as she strode into the classroom this afternoon to give Harry and the others Defense Against the Dark Arts, as though she had just run a race.

"She's scared by Hera," Harry whispered to Hermione and Ron, hiding his face behind the pages of the book. "As I told you at lunch, she can't do anything about Hera."

"But it's not wise," whispered Hermione, "Umbridge already looks very angry"

From time to time, Umbridge glared at Harry viciously. Harry kept his head down, staring at "Defense Against Magic Theory".

Harry would have liked to spend a few hours every evening in the headmaster's office if he could.

But Harry had a more important thing to figure out right now, something to do with his father and Professor Snape, and it was this old story that had caused his Occlumency lessons to be stopped. He wanted to use the fireplace in Umbridge's office to go back to 12 Grimmauld Place, Black's old house, where Sirius now lived.

He didn't tell anyone, not even Hermione and Ron - he knew they would stop him.

But Hera's message gave him a new idea, maybe he didn't need to venture to Umbridge's office, maybe he just needed to ask Hera, and Hera would lend him the fireplace?
Harry's heart beat fast as he left the classroom and walked down the corridor outside, towards the headmaster's office on the eighth floor.

"So, you think that your father, that is, James Potter, has done very bad things against Severus, and you want to ask Sirius for verification?" Hera rubbed her temples, if possible, he really didn't want Harry to leave Hogwarts. But if this problem cannot be solved, I am afraid that Harry will not stay at Hogwarts at ease - Hera is really worried that he will go to Umbridge's office.

If caught by Umbridge, she would definitely turn Harry over to the Ministry of Magic.

There is no doubt about that.

"Yes, I have to find out what's going on," said Harry firmly. He tilted his head, seemed to be in deep thought, and murmured, "I don't believe my father would be that kind of person. He has always been a firm and righteous person in my memory."

"I'm afraid many people think so." Hera rubbed her temples and said heavily, "I don't think I can stop you, but I'm afraid Sirius has lost his previous memory, and he can't give you a good answer. You'd better wait for me to write a letter. It would be great if Remus was there, after all, he is also a friend of James Potter."

"That would be great," said Harry cheerfully, and then he rubbed his hands again, "Hera, the evening tutoring you talked about earlier"

"Oh, you mean that," Hera scratched her head, when he was just in a fit of anger and talking nonsense with Umbridge.

"Well, yes." Harry looked at Hera with hopeful eyes, "Can you help me become an Auror?"

"Yes," Hera paused, "but as your friend, teacher, and headmaster, I don't suggest you become an Auror. You know, the Ministry of Magic is rotten. You must carefully consider this matter. As long as Fudge still sits in that position, he will not let you become an Auror."

"Okay," said Harry somewhat despondently, hanging his head as if he couldn't be more sad.

Hera patted Harry on the shoulder, "Don't be so sad, in fact, you don't need to do these things, the property left to you by your parents is enough to support all your expenses."

"my parents?"

"You don't think they're just left to a room full of Galleons, do you?" Hera blinked. "As far as I know, the biggest shampoo potion in the wizarding world belongs to the Potter family. I think it should be controlled by Dumbledore. He's probably worried that you will spend money indiscriminately."

"Oh, I'm really sorry about him." Harry lowered his voice. He didn't become happy because he learned that his parents left him a lot of property. Instead, he blamed himself even more when he remembered Dumbledore. If they hadn't used the name 'Dumbledore's Army' wisely, Dumbledore would not have been forced to leave Hogwarts.

"Relax, no one blames you for these things." Hera sighed and said softly. "Everyone knows who the culprit of all this is."

One thing Hera hadn't realized yet:

His spirit has broken with his old life and world of ideas, and he is burying all the old things in the past and embarking on his self-transformation.
