“Hey, can you draw here?”

Saying it carefully, Seon-hee nodded her head.

This time, Masaki brought an empty chair nearby and placed it in front of Seon-hee.

“Sit here and draw. You get out of the way.”

“Oh yeah.”

After Tamano had answered that way, she slowly retreated, and Seon-hee began to draw on the blank paper with a pencil.

The picture is drawn with his characteristic fast hand movements, and it is the shape of the airplane that Tamano was drawing earlier.

Even though he has only seen it once, he draws it as if it were an exact duplicate.

But what’s weird, I don’t know.

It just looks like the same picture.

“Oh, too. i See.”

However, when Tamano saw Seon-hee’s painting, he reacted quickly.

It seems that there is something that only they can see.

I also drew pictures at one time, but it seems that I am not as skilled as drawing.

Well, Masaki, who was next to me, doesn’t look very different from me.

Anyway, whether that was the beginning, the two began to exchange opinions about the painting in earnest. Of course, it’s a picture, not a conversation.

When Seon-hee shows the picture, Tamano simply exclaims ‘Ah’ or ‘Of course’.

And after seeing Seon-hee’s painting, Tamano draws another form of flying.

As I watched the two of them, I started to understand the situation little by little.

An airplane that exists in reality can reduce errors by referring to the model, but since it is an airplane created from the imagination from the beginning, there is inevitably a subtle difference between what is drawn in the head and the reality.

By the way, I feel such a subtle difference, but I am amazed that Seon-hee corrects the error in a situation where I did not know how to fix it.

This is Seonhee’s real strength.

Just by looking at a few pictures, I can understand them three-dimensionally.

However, creating something new has its drawbacks.

So I drew it with reference to other works.

But that alone felt limited, so I came here.

But you are solving other people’s problems, not your own.

Without realizing it, I shook my head.

However, my worries were nothing more than in vain.

Seon-hee, who corrected Tamano’s error, did not stop there, but started drawing a new design that appeared in a new machine gun.

Show this man your drawing and ask for his opinion.

Tamano, who was silently looking at Seonhee’s painting, opened his mouth.

“It’s messy. This. Do you need a different design?”

At that, Seon-hee nodded her head.

Then Tamano, who was looking around Seonhee’s machine gun, took a blank sheet of paper and started drawing.

A new type of machine gun based on Seon-hee’s drawings.

The machine cleanly handles the complicated drawings that have been glued together with just a few simple lines.

However, it feels quite sophisticated.

What?

If we compare Seon-hee’s painting to a car, it feels like the machine has been removed from the exterior, but Tamano’s machine is invisible and it feels like it was drawn with an elegant exterior design.

It has changed into a nicer and more effective feeling with fewer lines.

“Use your imagination. A complex machine is hidden under this iron plate, huh?”

“Imagination······.”

“Yeah. Imagine. You don’t have to show it all to your readers. The use of shadows in cartoons is a similar case. In reality, it is expressed in almost black color, but readers who think of the whole thing in it, or viewers of animation, imagine it. So you don’t have to draw everything. And that kind of illusion plays a role in enhancing the quality.”

“·················ogue.”

Seonhee nodded her head as if she understood what he was saying.

Imagine it.

Then, using it well is expressed well in comics such as “Rokudenashi Blues”, a comic that will appear later.

The school uniforms appearing there seem complicated at first glance, but in fact, more than half of them are filled with black shadows, and only the lighted parts are described in tones, so they feel strangely detailed like photos.

Anyway, this technique is often used when drawing the background.

However, Seonhee is not like that.

It’s because I’m the type to draw all the parts that seem to have something.

Rather, it becomes a poison that prevents development.

Well, I’m also partly responsible for this issue. Since I became a cartoonist and started working with assistants, I may not have been able to properly learn such things because I have been working almost exclusively with pencils.

Well, mostly thanks to the pencil work, I gained something, but I also lost a lot.

Still, thanks to coming here, I was able to solve problems that I hadn’t thought of before. Of course, a refined design is more important than such an omission method now.

However, this friend quickly made an absurd sound.

“Yeah. Yes. Wow, your sense of painting is innate. I didn’t know that I would run out of things to teach you so quickly.”

What?

Did you learn it all already?

The world is wide and there are many talented people (5)

I was embarrassed and looked at the picture Seonhee was drawing, and I was drawing in a way that followed Tamano’s advice.

Imagine the invisible.

He boldly covered the complex machine he had envisioned with nice gloves and began to describe it simply.

I remembered that I had ordered Seon-hee, who draws everything complicatedly, to express it simply. And now this picture is in line with my advice.

I was too absorbed in other things and forgot.

Because Seon-hee also pursued her fantasy of a perfect picture, I think she eventually hit the wall.

Complex, difficult drawings.(Read more @ wuxiax.com)

That would have led him to lose direction in the end.

Maybe it’s a technique that simplifies the most difficult.

“Do you want to study more about mechanical drawing?”

When Tamano asked an unexpected question, Seonhee stopped painting. Then she rolls her squint eyes and looks back at me.

When I nodded, Seonhee looked back at Tamano and nodded her head.

“Then, there is someone I want to introduce to you, would you like to meet me?”

“Introduction?”

Tamano turned to me when I asked and nodded his head.

“Yeah. I’m the one who studied drawing. He is quite famous in the amateur world in this field. The gainers here, who were members of Daikon Film, were about to try to do business.”

At that moment, Masaki, who was listening to the story, intervened.

“who? Fukami-san?”

“okay.”

Tamano nodded and Masaki frowned.

“Ah, Fukami-san is a little, isn’t it?”

“Still, there are very few people with mecha design talent like Fukami-san.”

“Yeah, but…”

Masaki tilted his head with a strange expression, but Tamano didn’t mind that, and looked straight ahead and turned to look at Sunny.

“The skill is certain. Maybe we can meet when we get home.”

After saying that, he turned to Masaki this time and said.

“Do you know Fukami-san’s house?”

“Well, it is.”

“that is great. Wait a moment.”

Having said that, he picked up the phone and dialed somewhere.

Then he said something and hung up.

“Well, as expected, I’m at home. Come visit me.”

Masaki nodded his head, biting his tongue once, noticing what he didn’t like.

“··············· What. Okay.”

“It was nice to meet you, Sunny. And thanks to you, I solved my headache. Thank you.”

“Thank you for learning how to draw.”

At Seon-hee’s answer, Tamano scratched the back of his head.

“What. Oh, one autograph before you go.”

After leaving Gainax, we took the 86 again.

But Masaki, who is driving, has been making a strange expression since before.

“Well, is there any problem?”

“no. It’s not like that… It’s just that that guy named Fukami is a bit weird.”

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah. It’s a little gloomy.”

“Damn?”

something vague

“Still, as Tamano said, he’s a really talented person in this branch.”

“Why wasn’t that person named Fukami being recruited by Gainax? if you have that skill. Was he recruited from somewhere else?”

“no. I’m not the type to get along well with people. It is also because Gainax is a group of people with strong personalities, so it is not easy to get along.”

“But seeing that Tamano-san is a disciple, it doesn’t seem like he doesn’t get along with people at all.”

“It seems that Tamanorang was a member of the same research group a long time ago. He must have been chasing hard. That friend is a friend who can throw away that much pride for the sake of painting.”

As we continued the conversation, suddenly, the car was entering the residential area. Then I entered a place that I wanted to be a little quiet, and then stopped immediately.

“Come on, here.”

As Masaki got out of the driver’s seat, we followed him with the car door open.

Even though it is near Tokyo, it has a lot of vegetable gardens and vacant lots, so it has a rural feel.

Is it because of that?

When I sucked in a lot of air through my nose, I felt refreshed.

Seonhee also glanced at me and followed me by extending her nostrils.

“Whoah.”

He smiles at Seon-hee like that, but Masaki looks at us with a ‘what are you doing?’ expression.

Then he took us to the front of the old two-story house.

Masaki knocked on the front door as he opened the old door that only reached his waist.

Then, after a while, the door swung open.

A man’s voice was heard, a little hoarse, along with his vigilant eyes inside.

“who are you?”

“Oh, Fukami-san. My name is Masaki Asuka, who works for Gainax.”

“I told you I wasn’t going to Gainax.”

“No, I know that. You came today…”

Then the door slammed shut and shut.

“······Ah.”

Masaki, who had stopped talking, looked back at us and smiled awkwardly.

“Well, that’s the atmosphere.”

“I think Tamano-san called you earlier, but you don’t seem to know at all?”

“I just say hello. Because I don’t like it when someone asks me to visit.”

“Ah.”

Having said that, he knocked on the door again.

This time, after knocking for a while, the door opened slightly again.

“Oh really. Why do you keep bothering me?”

His eyes and his voice are filled with more irritation than before.

“Ah, I came here on the recommendation of Isao Tamano.”

“Do you recommend Tamano?”

“Yeah. That friend told me to take this person to Fukami-san and go.”

“······Why?”

“Because of the picture.”

“·················ogue.”

The door opens slightly more, and Fukami’s gaze shifts to Seonhee.

Before, I didn’t know her face was completely hidden, but now she is barely visible.

She looks short with her long hair and chubby cheeks that look like her forehead is raised a lot.

I feel like I’m in my mid to late 30’s.

However, it seems that Tamano said that he was 31 years old.

Then he looked at Seon-hee with strange eyes.

With a look of a little curiosity, even though he was vigilant.

Then Masaki opened his mouth again.

“Sunny, sir. A cartoonist famous for Samsara.”

“I don’t know.”

“Ah, then Pasiencia. And machine gun jacks these days.”

“·················ogue.”

“Ah, the manga called Megalopolis in Cat.”

Then Fukami flinched.

Ah, this seems to be a familiar cartoon.

“I remember hearing it from Tamano. But I’m not really interested.”

While saying that, she continues to stare at Seon-hee.

Seonhee also looked at Fukami like that.

After receiving Seon-hee’s indifferent gaze, Fukami soon turns her gaze away. Then he said to Masaki again.

“I’m sorry Tamano, but I’m still not interested in…”

Then, Seon-hee suddenly pushed something towards the open door.

As I said, these are the pictures I drew at Gainax earlier.

Anyway, Fukami, startled by that, pauses and looks down at the painting. Then, a hand came out of the door and took the paper.
